Symptoms worth discussing
Painful periods, pain during sex, bowel or urinary symptoms around periods and difficulty conceiving may prompt assessment. Symptoms vary and can overlap with other conditions.
Assessment and diagnosis
Your symptom history, examination and imaging guide care. Normal imaging does not exclude all endometriosis. Further assessment, including laparoscopy in selected cases, may be discussed.
Medical and surgical options
Pain management, hormonal treatment and surgery may be considered according to symptoms and pregnancy plans. Where surgery is appropriate, a laparoscopic approach may be discussed. Complex disease may require specialist referral and multidisciplinary care.
